Museum of Contemporary Art

Los Angeles, USA

In 1984 MOCA purchases the first part of the collection which is comprised of 80 masterpieces by Fautrier, Kline, Lichtenstein, Oldenburg, Rauschenberg, Rosenquist, Rothko, Segal and Tàpies gathered by the Panzas from 1957 to 1964.

In 1994 gift to the museum of 70 artworks from the third collection created between 1982 and 1993 by 10 California-based artists: Carroll, G. Colson, J. Colson, Griffin, Lere, Mahoney, Rudel, Shelton, Therrien and Thurston.

Guggenheim Museum

New York, USA

Between 1990 and 1992 The Solomon R. Guggenheim Foundation in New York acquires over 350 Minimal, Post-minimal, Conceptual and Light & Space works (along with a ten-year loan of 230 pieces) by Andre, Barry, Brewster, Charlton, Darboven, De Maria, Flavin, Highstein, Huebler, Irwin, Joseph, Judd, Kaiser Vogel, Law, LeWitt, Long, Mangold, Marden, Morris, Nauman, Nordman, Orr, Ryman, Serra, Tivey, Turrell, Webster, Weiner and Wheeler.

Museo Cantonale d'Arte

Lugano, Switzerland

In 1994-95 the Panzas donate 200 works by Roger Ackling, Arends, Ball, Beckman, Carroll, Fredenthal, A. Graham, Gloria Graham, Griffin, Horn, James Hyde, Kiecol, Klingelhöller, Lere, Daniel Levine, Mahoney, Roeth, Rudel, Erik Saxon, Schütte, Seborovski, Shelton, Simpson, Spalletti, Therrien, Thurston, Tiemann, Vercruysse and Webster to the Museo Cantonale d’Arte in Lugano.

FAI - Villa e Collezione Panza

Varese, Italia

In 1996 the Panzas donate Villa Menafoglio Litta Panza to FAI - Fondo Ambiente italiano. In addition to the building and the park, the gift includes part of the collection of non-Western art, objects, furnishings, and 133 contemporary artworks (augmented in 2005, 2007 and 2009) by Arends, Beckman, Brewster, Carroll, Cole, Flavin, Alfonso Fratteggiani Bianchi, Fredenthal, A. Graham, Irwin, Kiecol, Mangold, McCracken, Nordman, Puryear, Roeth, Rudel, Simpson, Sims, Spalletti, Therrien, Tiemann, Turrell and Webster. In 2022 Giovanna Magnifico Panza decides with her children to donate a new group of 106 works by other artists. The Villa is enriched with works by Appleby, Barry X Ball, R. Barry, Carpi, Costantini, Dibbets, Dynis, Fogliati, Fulton, Goerk, Highstein, Kosuth, LeWitt, Long, Lukas, Mochetti, Nonas, Shanahan, Shelton e Weiner, as well as an integration of those by Brewster, Carrroll, Rudel, Sims e Tiemann. The donation also includes 113 high quality prints of photoghphs from the Panza Collection from 1975 to 1992 by Giorgio Colombo

Palazzo Ducale

Sassuolo, Italia

In 2005 the 51 site-specific works by Appleby, Carroll, Litzmann, Roeth, Simpson, Sims e Spalletti commissioned for the Appartamento Stuccato in Palazzo Ducale specially for the exhibition Monochromatic light. Artisti americani ed europei dalla Collezione Panza (2001) are donated to the Italian Government. 

Albright-Knox Art Gallery

Buffalo, USA

The Panza Collection: An Experience of Color and Light, Albright-Knox Art Gallery, Buffalo celebrates the acquisition of artworks of the 1960s and from the third part of the collection by Appleby, Arends, Cole, Flavin, Fratteggiani Bianchi, Fredenthal, Kosuth, Irwin, LeWitt, Litzmann, Roeth, Simpson, Sims, Therrien e Truitt (November 16, 2007 - February 24, 2008). The acquisition is later implemented with works by Horn (2010) and Weiner (2011-2012) and 45 installations, photographs, film, sculptures and drawings focusing on light, sound and language from the 1960s and 70s to the more recent developments in the 1980s: Art & Language, Darboven, De Maria, Dibbets, Huebler, David Lamelas, Orr, Stephen Prina, Vercruysse, Wilson, Barry, Fulton, Gilbert & George, Highstein, Horn, Kosuth, LeWitt and Weiner. A selection is included in the exhibition Looking at Tomorrow: Light and Language from the Panza Collection, 1967-1990 (October 24, 2015 - February 7, 2016).

 

 

Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden

Between 2007 and 2009 the Hirshhorn Museum and Sculpture Garden, Washington, D.C. purchases some 40 works and projects by Barry, Bell, Darboven, Dibbets, Fulton, Huebler, Irwin, Kawara, Kosuth, LeWitt, Long, Nauman, Nonas, Opalka, Weiner e Wheeler, a selection is exhibited on the occasion of The Panza collection (October 23, 2008 - January 11, 2009).

Museum of Modern Art

San Francisco, USA

In 2010 The San Francisco Museum of Modern Art acquires a group of Conceptual and Post-Minimalist works by Barry, Joseph Beuys, Stanley Brouwn, Victor Burgin, Darboven, Dibbets, Fulton, Huebler, Kosuth, Nauman, Weiner, Wheeler and Wilson.

Chiesa di San Fedele

Milano, Italia

The San Fedele Cultural Center in Milan receives as a gift from the Panza family the three interference paintings dated 1993 by David Simpson hosted in the presbytery of  the adjacent 16th-century church from October 2012.

Los Angeles County Museum of Art

Los Angeles, USA

In 2015 the Panza family donates three of the few holograms by Bruce Nauman; they were conceived for the museum’s Art & Technology program (1967-1971).

Musei Civici

Venezia, Italia

In 2015 gift to the City of Venice of 23 important works from the third collection by Arends, Carroll, Mahoney, Mangold, Nonas, Seliger, Simpson and Sims to be housed at the Fondazione Musei Civici Veneziani.
